Alarplasty

Narrows wide nostrils by surgically reshaping the nasal base, achieving refined proportions and enhancing overall facial harmony.

Alarplasty Reshape of the Nostrils in Bangkok, Thailand

Alarplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape and reduce the size of nostrils. A small, wedge-shaped piece of skin is removed to create smaller, narrower nostrils. Alarplasty is a popular procedure combined with rhinoplasty to refine and beautify the nose shape.

Rhinoplasty is a general term for any operation designed to change the nose shape and size, such as hump removal, correcting bulbous or droopy nasal tips, or other rhinoplasty surgeries to restore functionality, such as deviated septum; Alarplasty refers solely to the surgery to narrow the nostrils when the nostrils are too wide. Alarplasty involves removing skin from the nostrils and suturing the nostril closed, thereby narrowing the nostrils. The incisions are made inside the nose and are contained to only the nose.

2. A sliding alar flap technique narrows the alar base so the incision scar is outside the nostril base. This procedure is available for someone who has optimal nostrils but needs a narrow alar base, as Picture 2

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

In most cases, Alarplasty can be performed under a local anesthetic. However, if it is combined with a full rhinoplasty, a general anesthetic will usually be required.

Recovery time for an Alarplasty is relatively quick compared to other facial surgeries. Your nose will be red and swollen initially, but this should recede in 1 to 2 weeks, and final results can be seen in as little as 2 months.

While a highly low-risk procedure, complications considered with this surgery include scarring and infection.

There are a number of different procedures for this surgery, and depending on the method used, there is either no scar or a practically invisible scar.

The nose takes center stage in the face and significantly affects overall looks. Alarplasty makes a massive difference to a person’s looks because a flared nose can quickly become more refined and beautiful.
